The Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony in Elgin, Illinois, is an annual event where residents and visitors gather at DuPage Court to witness the lighting of the holiday tree. Mayor David Kaptain, members of City Council, and Santa turn on the tree lights, accompanied by various free activities and entertainment for all ages. The tree will be illuminated through January 2025 and feature a synchronized light show on select weekdays.

An Almost Winter Day

Description:
Join South Elgin Parks and Recreation for the 23rd annual An Almost Winter Day at SEBA Park, where you can make s'mores, decorate cookies, enjoy craft projects, get a balloon animal, and drop off a letter to Santa. The afternoon includes an ice sculptor, bonfire, tree decorating contest, snowball slingshot fun, and dog sled demos by Free Spirit Siberian Rescue. Santa arrives at 2 PM and stays until 4:45 PM for pictures. The event shifts to Panton Mill Park at 5 PM for the Village Tree lighting.
