The Burning of the Clocks is a unique community event held annually on 21st December, created by Same Sky. Local people make their own paper and willow lanterns, which they parade through the city before passing them into a blazing bonfire on Brighton beach as a token of the year's end. This annual event brings the city together to celebrate the shortest day of the year and provides an antidote to the excesses of Christmas. Each year features a different theme.
